Centurylink has not given me my refund half a year later. - CenturyLink high speed internet service


Okay. I was on a contract, paying $32 a month. My contract expired and I didn't realize until about a day after I was billed $56 in JULY! 2016. I called them and told them I wanted to end my service and they convinced me to go on "Vacation" instead. They'll keep my money until I decide whether or not I want to stay with them. If I stay, they'll put it towards my next bill. If I go, they'll refund me. I decide to go. So they supposedly refund me $32. A while later, because I completely forget about the refund in that time, still no check. I call, they say they sent it. Call back in two weeks if I still don't have it. I still don't have it, so I call back. They'll cancel it and send a new one. I completely forget again, until yesterday, 1/11/17, when I get it in the mail. Guess what? I had 90 days to cash it. It's past 90 days. I don't know if Century Link is trying to steal from me or it somehow got lost in the mail...again. Very convenient. I call again today. They say it was already cashed. I ask, how can it be cashed if I just opened it from a sealed envelope and am holding it in my hand?! During this entire conversation they keep inferring that I cashed it, or a relative. I ask them for the date and the check number. Date: 8/31/16, that matched. Check number DID NOT MATCH! How and why would they send out two checks on the same day with the same amount. That can be the only explanation, since the check was supposedly cashed, but I am HOLDING IT IN MY HANDS and the CHECK NUMBER THEY SAY WAS CASHED DOES NOT MATCH! So, either they sent me two refund checks on the same day, Century link being the giving sort, or they are trying to steal my measly $32 dollars and filing false documents. They'll call me in a few days after they look into it. I've already waited half a year.....what's a few more days right?
