  • 2 hrs & 43 min of NOTHING

They disconnected my service a whole week before the date I asked them to (moving across the country). Almost 3 hours of repeating myself, getting hung up on, and NO RESOLUTION. 3 hours is a lot when you're packing a whole house to move across country. YOU HAVE OUR INFORMATION- YOU ASK US EVERY TIME WERE CONNECTED TO A DIFFERENT DEPARTMENT. HOW ABOUT A CALL BACK WHEN YOU ACCIDENTALLY HANG UP ON US???? Horrible service. 5 YEARS. Countless hours on the phone every time they jack up the bill. NO MORE!!!! Whenever I hear about a friend or even a neighbor moving to CenturyLink, I tell... More...

  • Centurylink can't install service

Centurylink scheduled us to activate our service and then didn't show up for their appointment. When I called to ask where the technician was they said they wouldn't be coming today and they rescheduled me for the next week. So the next week comes and I call first thing in the morning this time so I'll actually know what time they're coming and they say yet again that no one will come and they won't uphold their scheduled appointment for the second time. So I ask to speak to a manager and I express my dissatisfaction and demand a guarantee that I will get service... More...

  • Centurylink Prisim television

Centurylink is the worst company I have EVER dealt with in 50 years. Their customer service is as bad as a state owned company in North Korea. Their service has gone off at least once, and usually more than once every day since we signed up with them. ( just over a year) They lie continuously about solving problems by saying a service tech is on the way, but if they are it is taking them months to get to my house (near a major city) Unless you need a lot of added stress, stay away from Centurylink. • Day five and the problems have already begun...

Centurylink is the only provider around here, and my fiancé's parents who live three doors down have never had problems (from what we know) so we chatted them to set up a package. A few things that were strange right off the bat: 1) We were never asked to sign anything, but they gladly accepted a $75 "deposit". As of today, there's still no agreement signed nor talk of a contract. Our service just started. 2) We were told that service would start on June 1st. Luckily for us, I was home that day so when I got a knock on the door from Centurylink, here to install... More...

  • Centurylink - horrible service

I have had service for five months. This company has no problem taking my money, yet has major problems completing services on time. Anytime I have called it has taken over an hour and getting through to a real person who actually knows what they are doing is impossible. As of today, my internet lines STILL have not been buried. With service starting in October of 2016, it was supposed to have been done by mid-November. It is now mid-February 2017 and I still have lines laying on my grass and across my fence. Anytime I actually am able to speak to a real person, they are unable to assist my... More...

  • Worse experience ever

Don't get me wrong, when I started with CenturyLink I was estatic, set up was easy, and I had someone from the company who knew what they were doing install it. But then I started receiving bills, I had purchased the $54 a month internet package, the first bill I received was $119.70. I was like wow, but I figured it was probably because of the installation. Ok so I went ahead and wrote them a paper check for that, all was good, I saw it clear through my checking account. Next month I get a bill saying my total was around $200, that was unacceptable. It was saying I had never paid the... More...

  • Long hold times and only open 8a-5p, untrained staff

I have never been able to resolve any issue in less than an hour and most calls require being transferred several times before an issue is resolved. The office hours are only 8a-5p and my hours are 7:30-5:30 so I am not able to resolve anything during my regular work day and have to use vacation time to do so. I was advised of a change to my contract but the system was not updated so the original contract was upheld. Centurylink did not take accountability for any of their employees statements or actions. Service for both Internet and cable was inconsistent and usually occurred at the... More...

  • Centurylink Service and Customer Service

Called in to speak with a representative about a bill that was sent to us after not having service with them for over a year. Was transferred to 5 different people THEN was sent back to the automated service, square one, and transferred again. When I finally got to speak with someone who called me a "rude ass" for telling her that she was the 6th person I had talked to... Yes I was quite pissed for being gave the run around for over 45 minutes, so yes I was a bit hateful but calling names was uncalled for. Needless to say I have to pay a bill for service that I no longer had, and... More...

  • Centurylink Horrible Customer Service

I have dealt with a handful of horrible companies, but Centurylink had by far the worst customer service along with the most incompetent employees i've ever dealt with. I called to set up only internet service, and was asked if I wanted to rent a router, and told the employee no, since I had one of my own. (Centurylink still sent me a router through the mail) I was then told it would be 4 days until service could be set up. When I called to cancel my service 2 days later, I was told it was cancelled but they could not provide me with a confirmation number stating that the account had... More...

  • fraud

The @ease computer support program from Century Link trashed my computer, I called complaint dept. found out that when you sign up through the business office they are suppose to read to you a disclosure that say's "use us at your own risk", so of course they failed to tell me that, because they wanted to sell me and not disclose that part of the agreement, which no one would agree to that, it would be stupid. I believe this is willful fraud of misrepresenting a service for monetary gain.So now I have my computer in a repair shop and century link denies any responsibility... More...

  • I don't even have service yet and I want to cancel

First of all, the technician went to the wrong place. Then, after waiting another week for another technician, we get one scheduled and he says he will be by in the afternoon. No time frame, nothing. Around 5:30pm I call him and he said we were taken off his work order. What?! After waiting all day long, we were taken off without us even knowing. THEN, we speak with someone in customer service and he says it's already set up. How is that possible if no technician has been here?! He proceeds to tell us that our modem is on its way and we can set it up on our own by following the... More...

  • Multiple Horrible Experiences

Century Link used bait and switch tactics to sell me Prism bundle including landline phone, TV and internet promising one low fee, no equipment charges, no install charges. When I got my first bill it was 5 times higher than the agent promised, upwards of $500. Many hours of phone calls to billing, customer service, over-billing problem not resolved, threatened with collections. I cancelled services immediately. Ask for full adjustment of new charges, as I was given a satisfaction guarenteed, risk free trial. Century Link response was that I would only get credit after equipment was... More...

  • Constant Billing Issues

I really hope that people read these reviews before deciding on a media supplier. Century Link is a company you really want to avoid. Once there is a problem, it could take you several billing cycles to fix it. What a racket they have over there. Here is how the scam works: You sign up with these crooks for internet, Direct TV and a worthless land line phone. After a year or so you start noticing some pretty big charges for stuff you never ordered (their last robbery occurred with NFL Access, and I don't watch football). If you are as unfortunate as I was to use AutoPay, they will take... More...

  • Centurylink, Dishonest Company

Dishonest service. Within the last 10 months of service with Century link we have been over charged 4 times. Two of our bills have been double what our payments were for. After spending about 3 hours on the phone each time we have over charged to get it lowered to our correct bill we decided to cancel our subscription. Now we are being charged cancellation fees we were told would be waved and charges for no reason on our part and are extremely frustrated with the dishonesty of this company. More...

Ever since I signed up with century link for internet service, it has been nothing but a nightmare. They first sent us the modem to set up ourselves and the internet was working for about 2 hours (only in the room with the modem by the way) and then it went out. We had Century Link for 18 days and had internet service for approximately 8 hours throughout the entire time. I made multiple phone calls and had 3 technicians out to "fix it". Everyone that I dealt with at that company was rude and incompetent. After canceling my service and filing for a 30 days money back guarantee, I... More...

  • Never will I use them again!

Terrible service. I am so upset with them! I moved out of apartment and was still in a contract with them so I had them transfer over my remaining contract to the new address. Instead they set me up on a whole new contract that I did not want. I was going to cancel after my contract was up but now I received a whole new account number and stuff. I called about that and the guy I talked to was really nice and helpful and told me he would terminate my contract for free without the fee I would have to pay. When I call back a couple weeks later to ask a question about the final bill they tell... More...

  • Never use Century Link, horrible customer service

I spent over 2.5 hours on the phone with Century Link trying to resolve and issue with cancelled internet that shouldn't have been an issue to begin with! I spoke with 8 different in different departments, asking for a manager after 1st transfer before I ended up in the Escalation department. Julian, is the wrong guy to have at the Escalation Department as he made things worse rather than calming down a person! After being on the phone close to 2 hours, anyone would be in an escalated temperament. He couldn't follow what was going on and didn't seem to care that I had been... More...

  • Terrible Customer Service

We have had a terrible time working with CenturyLink for our business. Not only is the internet service itself horrible, the staff helping us was incredibly rude and in a bad mood (I'm talking to you "Cat"), acting as if it was our fault we were having internet problems and not understanding our urgency to get back up and running. If there was someone else in town that caters to businesses we would definitely use them, unfortunately however, they are the only players in our town. Get it together Centurylink. Have your staff take some courses in customer service and please... More...

  • Horrible service

Internet service has been horrible. Down for weeks at a time. Currently down for a week, been calling for two days and get answering machine that says you have reached Century link outside of business hours, all day long? When you finally reach someone, they make you do all the same things they always make you do and then say they have to send someone out. I work, I cannot be home for Century Link all the time. House guests had to check into a hotel last night as a week without internet was effecting their ability to do there jobs. I am paying for a service I am not getting More...

  • Horrible service all around

Crappy speeds, constant outages, and horrible customer service. Oh, and also be prepared for unexplained charges on your bill, and constant other billing errors that force you to have to deal with the retarded moron jerks from customer service for at least 5 hours every month. most of the time is spent being on hold and having to go through about 10-20 idiots that don't know what they are talking about and refuse to let you speak with superiors, so there's a lot of hanging up and calling back until you find that one person who has at least a few brain cells left in their melon... • Can't leave TV on when away

In the recent past, Centurylink made progranmming changes so the TV can't be left on while noone is home. Once 10 hours elapses without input to the box from the remote, the television cuts off. So much for leaving the TV on so people think I'm home. So glad that Centurylink decided they knew best when I should turn it off. I can't imagine what they were thinking to actually change their software to disallow this. It makes no sense whatsoever. More...

  • Centurylink damaged box

I cancelled my service with Centurylink after my 1 year contract. They told me I could mail back my cable boxes in two boxes they mailed to me to return the cable boxes. At this time they owed me around $4.00. Once they received my cable boxes they sent me a bill for $138 indicating the boxes were damaged. When I inquired more about the damages of the boxes they told me it was due to writing and markings on top of the box!!! I assured them that there was not any damage to those boxes whatsoever when I mailed them via UPS!! I also told them that I wanted proof of the writing and... More...

This has been the worst experience I have had with a service provider of any kind. If you are looking for an internet provider- Please take my advice and avoid CenturyLink. I opened my account with them in September 2014. I was in for trouble from the initial call. The sales woman signed me up for landline services after I had been very clear I only wanted internet services, claiming I would have a cheaper bill and be thanking her later. However, when I received my first bill, imagine the shock of it being almost $300 instead of the $54 agreement that as made. I still had to pay the full... More...

  • Century Link False Advertising

This Company is Hands down the WORST I have dealt with. In calling customer service I had a representative put me on hold for over 20 mis when asking for a supervisor, only to come back on and act as a supervisor, obviously I could tell he was the same guy, When I called him on it, He placed me back on hold for over 20 mins. Then The next day I found out I was being Charged for 40 mbs of service as that was the agreement up front , but only receiving 20 MBS!!!! if I would not have logged in and set up Auto Pay, I would have never known that I was Getting Cheated!!! • Very poor billing service

After spending almost 90 minutes on the phone 3 weeks ago with centurylink trying to pay my final bill because they deleted my zipcode from my file so I could not pay it online or through the automated system (which they told me they did but did not know why and could not reenter the data???) Well they wanted me to pay $4 to pay the bill which I refused as it was their mistake not mine%u2026. well finally I got through to a supervisor that could wave the fee and my final bill was paid. Guess what I got an new final bill of $1.41 and now I am going through the same again for $ 1.41. So far... More...

  • They'll Delete Your Account and Take You to Collection

I had a CenturyLink account for 9 months - one of those college kid deals from 2012-2013. The account was under my name but my roommate was an authorized person in case something happened and she needed to call them. At the end of our 9 months we returned our modem and that was that. I called them to make sure the modem had been received and they said yes. I thought that was the end of it. Fast forward to February of 2015, I run a soft credit report on myself and find an open collection for $108 from CenturyLink that was opened in November of 2014. I called CenturyLink and was bounced... More...

  • Centruy Link Service Sucks

I have never had such poor customer service. Since Jan 30,2015 I have had a very loud annoying noise on my land line. This isn't the first time I've had this problem. 5 different employees have come to my house...each one with no clue ats to why they were there..had to re-tell my story 5 times. The problem isn't on my property. Cable problem at different location. CL doesn't keep records of continuous problems. Just the # of calls from a particular #. I'm being told to keep records so I can get the proper credit...CL is clueless. Finally talked to one of their... More...

CenturyLink conducts their business very poorly. I was told over and over again how I was such a loyal customer by their phone representatives, yet I was treated with such disrespect when I contacted them regarding a higher bill I received which was more money then expected when I renogiated my phone and internet service for an additional year of service. I agreed to a lower amount then what I was actually billed.
